This is a C-SPAN video of the the Annual Radio & Television Correspondents’ Dinner of the year 2010 on St. Patrick’s Day.
Yesterday, I’ve stumbled upon this comedian, a former molecular biologist, who eventually entered the realm of comedy. Since 2013 he has returned to china to host a show similar show to Mythbusters called “Is that for real?” or “是真的嗎?”
Compared to other comedians, Joe doesn’t swear and is considered “clean comedy.” With his chinese accent and his well-planned pauses, he grabs the attention of his viewers with some witty lines or jokes that doesn’t really offend anyone. He also often makes fun of himself as all fobs do regarding their language capabilities.
It’s a pity that I haven’t found him sooner as he surely has some amazing material. As this is one of his later works since he first showed up in 2009, his material has improved substantially and he apparently has harbored more of American humor and learned a lot about the American culture as he says:
“I am honored to meet Vice President Joe Biden tonight. I actually read your autobiography and today I see you. I think the book is much better. They should’ve casted Brad Pitt, or even Angelina Jolie.”
He also talks a bit about immigration, bilingualism, Obama, journalism, having hope, and much more.
Well, cheers. 😀
